Early in the morning we’ll leave the crowded city and head for the small village of Cheia.

Our aim for the day is the awesome Gropsoare – Zaganu route, famous for its beautiful and strange rock formations, amazing viewpoints, beautiful meadows…..
But that’s not all folks! After a great trek through the forest and numerous landscape changes, you will be rewarded with a spectacular view from Gropsoare Peak (1883 m). Oh boy, it’s difficult to describe the view from the top, along with the feeling of accomplishment….
Further on, the route takes us along the ridge line and soon we’ll get to Chirusca Saddle. From the saddle we’ll make a descent all the way to Muntele Rosu hut ( Red Mountain hut).
After all that good effort, now it’s time for a good meal and a cold Ciucas beer!
From the hut we’ll slowly descend through the forest back to Cheia village, and end a beautiful trekking day.
